Most business owners want to contribute - time, money, staff, resources - to a cause. They know they should give back yet aren't sure how. With so many choices and so many worthy organizations, choosing just one can be a challenge.

I encourage my clients to pick one - just one. Start there. Don't overwhelm yourself by trying to do too much, which inevitably results in doing nothing.

With so much to do, entrepreneurs get bogged down with the daily details of their business. Many things go overlooked. The biggest area that gets overlooked is giving back to the community.

I'd like to share an amazing project that my client, Kittleson Landscape, is giving back to. On behalf of a student in the school his children attend, Craig Kittleson is donating time and other resources to make the dreams of a terminally-ill child a reality. During a brief encounter with an entrepreneur this morning, the conversation led to a discussion of how to do more with the time we have in a given day. She and her business-partner husband have a business that is exploding, an increasing client base, and are becoming increasingly exhausted. There are so many things to do - many of which will make their business run even more smoothly, and set the stage for increased growth. With already working so many hours, how can they get it all done?
